At last the battle with machines and the invisible ether known as the web is over, and The Guild's events list for 2008 is finally up and published. There are so many exciting things we are looking forward to joining, that to list them all would be to rewrite the list. However, we will be visiting some new places: Dover Castle, for instance, in May will be a treat because it holds such an important place in our history, but there are some wonderful new (to us, at least) museums that have invited us, such as Hollytrees in Colchester which is near the castle in the High Street, and The John Moore Museum in Tewkesbury. We already know the town and Abbey well, having been to the Medieval Festival (held on the 12th -13th July this year) for some years, and are looking forward to moving forward to the Tudor period for this visit. Then there's Pensthorpe which is over in Norfolk near Fakenham. They hold a spectacular medieval three day event over the late August Bank holiday and we have heard excellent reports of it so we are really pleased to be invited there as well. It's also a great pleasure to be invited to make a return visit, and this year we will again be present at the Houghton Regis Medieval Fair in September. This was such a good event, with really friendly visitors and excellent organisation that it will be great to come back, though we will be portraying different aspects of medieval life so no one should be bored with us. Do have a look at our events list and see if you can join us at an event this year.
